Once you have all the steps of the StoryPathing™ process, you will emerge with something extremely valuable: a clear envisioned future and a story to tell that will help you get there. However, this does not mean that your story work is completed.

Even if you feel that your story perfectly captures who you are and where you want to go, it is essential that you revisit and revise it often.  If you continue to rely on the same story you originally created as a frame of reference tool in your life, you may find that it will eventually stop being as effective as it once was.

This is due to the fact that we are constantly growing. Over time, we gain new responsibilities as well as develop new hobbies and interests. The things we do every day have a big impact on our story. For most of us, these things experience some degree of change over the course of time. When this change occurs, it should be noted in your story.

With every new experience, we learn something new and our frame of reference shifts. After these shifts take place, some of our motivations behind the things we do are likely to change. For example: after someone has their first child, they are likely to place a lot more importance on family. Frame of reference shifts have the ability to completely change the course of our envisioned future, so incorporating them into your story is essential.

Finally, as we grow older, our style of doing things may evolve. Our style is what helps us stand out, so continuously accessing your personal style is extremely important. This will specifically help in future job interviews.

Finally, revisiting your story will be an incredibly rewarding experience. Sometimes, we don’t realize how much we have evolved over time until we take a look at ourselves from a while back. The story you have written now captures you at this moment in time. When you go back to it in a few months or even years, every revision you make will be a reminder of your growth.
