Dr. D. is the Founder of the StoryPathing self-learning program and process. He is Professor of Technology, Leadership and Management at Roger Williams University – University College. His Ph.D. research study generated new models for integrating work-life storytelling for which he is internationally recognized.

The 1st time StoryPathing process was referenced was during Dr. D.’s preparation talk in South Kingstown, RI. As he was finishing his research presentation, “the Oxford pilot,” for a panel discussion at the International Human Science Research conference in Oxford, England in 2011, he stated “this is the process of StoryPathing!”

StoryPathing is a research-based process to promote self-authorship in building and performing personal-career related stories.  Of course there’s more to that story! Dr. D. is a co-founder of The Sports Mind Institute, past president  & Chief Educational Consultant for ALEX AND ANI UNIVERSITY, a Board Member of the Human Science Institute, and current Executive Director at the Narrative Research Group, Inc.  Dr. D. serves University College as the Chair of the University College Curriculum Committee, Faculty Senator & Director of Prior Learning.

Dr. D is frequently called a “cross-over” teacher,  “story-wizard” and a “what’s possible” coach. Dr. D’s calling in life is to serve students by helping them make sense of their life-work path enhancing the likelihood of them living an engaged, creative and productive life worth living. He lives in South Kingstown, RI with his family and their 2 Australian shepherds, Bruce & Sweetie.

Marshall Jones

Marshall Jones is a celebrated spoken word artist whose work is exploding around the world. His unique gift runs deep into the human experience, exploring universal themes that run the gamut from identity and culture to connection and technology. Marshall, who has performed for TED audiences in Montreal, Hollywood, and at the Scott Air Force Base, showcases his incredible work for audiences, collaborates with clients on incredible customized material, and speaks with passion about the creative process–something he understands like no one else.

As a professional spoken word artist and dramatic performer, Marshall has been featured in two TEDx conferences, and has shared the podium with the likes of Marc Lamont Hill, Ambassador Andrew Young, Henry Louis Gates, and Simon Sinek. He has also performed at the Musical Instrument Museum, the Omega Institute, and at BBC World Service.

His clients have included numerous college and  universities, Absinthe Films, 20k Watts, The Leon Sullivan Foundation, the I.Am Angel Foundation, and the Jordin Sparks Experience. On stage, he has also commemorated actors Mia Farrow and John Leguizamo.

Shannon Rebelo
Shannon RebeloStoryPathing™ Instructional Designer

Shannon is an educator with a heart for guidance counseling and “reaching students” by smart design of learning experiences. Over the years she’s worked as a special educator, consultant, advisor and advocate. Her work supporting executive development and corporate education surfaced over the last five years, as she has spearheaded online learning, training & development programs for the CEO of SPARTAN, the Sports Mind Institute, FEI, Elite Physical Therapy, Exequor Life Sciences and has been the glue to bind the StoryPathing processes to our teacher-coach contributors and partners.

Shannon also serves as the bridge between schools, professional development opportunities and work to determine how non-profit organizations may benefit from the customization of StoryPathing learning experiences and programs. Currently she is exploring the opportunities for North Adams (MA) School System to integrate StoryPathing programs into several student populations throughout the district. Shannon also is the StoryPathing Instructor & Lead for joint programs being planned for Summer 2019 to be hosted at Roger Williams University’s University College in Providence, RI.

As the Instructional Design Lead, she ensures all StoryPathing programs, experiences and workshops have the learner, leader, and student in mind. Shannon’s “morning coffee” ritual includes client and program updates related to StoryPathing programs possible reach to students, so “we can help identity formation happen earlier with the younger student driving self-authorship early on in their life.” She lives in South Kingstown, RI and dashes off to the Berkshires with her husband, sometimes her growing children (young adults), and nearly always her 2 Australian Shepherds.

Jim Baron

From 1981 to 1987, Baron was an assistant coach at Notre Dame under Digger Phelps.[1] Baron helped Notre Dame make the NCAA Tournaments of 19851986, and 1987 and rank in the season-end top-25 polls in 1986 and 1987.[3] Baron first became a head coach in 1987 at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. His teams showed improvement each of his first four seasons, culminating in an appearance in the 1991 NCAA Tournament.[4][5]

In 1992, Baron began a 20-season stint as a head coach in the Atlantic 10 Conference, returning to St. Bonaventure once again, this time as head coach. During his nine seasons as head coach, St. Bonaventure appeared in the 1995 National Invitation Tournament and 2000 NCAA Tournament, the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1978. As a #12 seed, St. Bonaventure lost 85-80 in double overtime to #5 Kentucky.[5][6] The A-10 recognized Baron as Coach of the Year in 1995.[5]

Baron became head coach at Rhode Island in 2001. After going 8–20 in his first season, Baron led Rhode Island to a 19–12 season the following year and won his second A-10 Coach of the Year award.[5][7] Rhode Island spent four weeks ranked in the top-25 polls from December 24, 2007 to January 21, 2008.[1] Rhode Island made three NIT appearances, including in the 2010 semifinals.[1] IAfter four years at Canisius, Baron announced his retirement from coaching on May 20, 2016.[10]
